This surgery is a complete and utter shambles presided over by disinterested and incompetent management. It no longer provides any useful medical services of practical value. It is nigh on impossible to get an appointment or to contact the surgery by telephone. Absolutely ridiculous. The worst I have even encountered in my life time. And I have been waiting 40 weeks for a hospital appointment.

I am sorry to hear that you feel so negative about our surgery and health system in general. Just to clarify, we have no power over the hospital waiting times. Please feel free to contact our patient services manager to discuss any specific points of your feedback. Dr irma Murjikneli

Can I ask why the surgery times are advertised on the web as 7am , but the surgery isn't open until 8.30 , you cant get in to the premises until then, I went on a Friday , and there was a que waiting to go in, all thought the walk in surgery was open from 7am and a few thought 8am. It was a very cold day and there were receptionists in the surgery but no one could go in, there was a lady in the que with a baby with croupe and had been waiting 45 minutes outside in the cold, she thought that the surgery opened at 8am. when asked at reception they said the times had been changed a month ago. can you advise me why the surgery has opening times of 7am on the website. Also I asked to see a GP but was given to a very rude and abrupt nurse who had no idea what was wrong with me and had to go and see the doctor to ask , by describing my symptoms never saw the GP myself!!, I was not told be reception that I was going to see a nurse instead of a doctor, it wouldn't have been a problem if they knew what to do without going to see the doctor on my behalf ! Are they pre-booked appointments from 7am or 8am for GPs ? if so how do people get in if the doors are locked until 8.30?

The main problem is getting an appointment which is crazy. Excuses given are that it is a nationwide problem and that other local surgeries have closed! Maybe, but what is the point of over-extending the practice by just taking on any new patients. We are told not to go to A&E unless a dire emergency but to see out GP!! what a joke. Surely with good management you keep patient numbers to the number you can deal with efficiently? On my last recent visit I was told to book an appointment with a certain doctor which has proved impossible. I have a condition which I am trying to find out if it is something sinister, extensive blood tests, health checks etc etc but no way for a follow up. This is since June!! Can't get a referral to a specialist unless I see the doctor first. I feel patients health is being put at risk. This needs to be sorted.

I am sorry that you had problems with booking an appoointment to see your usual doctor. There is nothing management can do to keep our patient numbers down. We have already reduced our practice border, but even if we close our practice list, we can be forced to register patients by the heath autority so closing list is not the answer. However, we are changing the system about regular chealth checks for chronic conditions, from the 1st of April, patients will recieve a phone call from the surgery and be booked with a nurse/doctor for a specific health check such as dabetes/asthma/hypertension. If you are still struggling to see your GP, please speak to our patient services manager Yvonne Jones. Best wishes Dr Irma Murjikneli

This surgery is a joke, you can't book an afternoon appointment, you have to ring back and when you do you can't get an appointment, this has happened to me twice last week and again today. They don't think about some patients care especially when your 21 weeks pregnant and been requested to see the doctor due to on going complications If I could change surgeries I would but it's the online in peacehaven, will be a lot worse when the new houses are built.

Sorry to hear that you were unable to book an appointment. Our appointments are divided into three types, prebookable - they open 2 weeks ahead - they usually get booked quickly, book on the day - which you can book from 8:30 in the morning, and afternoon only which you can book from 2:30 on the day. It may not seem ideal but we have to think about everyone. If we don't keep some appointments for the afternoon we will not be able to see patients who suddenly become unwell. All of those 3 types of appointments can also be booked online. Unfortunately the lack of appointments and clinical staff is a nationwide problem. Please contact our patient services manager to discuss this further, as I am concerned that you were turned away at 21 weeks of pregnancy and feeling unwell, this is not something we would do even if there were no appointments left. Best wishes Dr Irma Murjikneli
